As we celebrate our planet all month long, there are many Earth Day 2021 events to look forward to. Here’s my running list of events that you should check out this Earth Month!
Sustainable Building Week San Diego
April 12-16 | Various Times
This year kicks off the first-ever Sustainable Building Week in San Diego! This week-long event will highlight local organizations going above and beyond in sustainability and improving our built environment. Topics include building decarbonization, climate policy in San Diego, potable water reuse, access to green space & parks, and veterans workforce development.
Business Advocates for Carbon Pricing
April 13 | 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM PDT
The Business Advocates for Carbon Pricing conference is hosted by Citizens’ Climate Lobby (CCL) who empowers everyday people to work with their community and their members of Congress on climate change solutions. This conference will help you learn more about Carbon Pricing, the Energy Innovation and Carbon Dividend Act, and how you can support them to address the climate crisis.
Green Business Solutions Webinar
April 15 | 1:30 PM – 3:00 PM PDT
Join I Love A Clean San Diego and CONNECT ALL @ The Jacobs Center for a free Green Business Solutions Webinar. The webinar will include the importance of a zero-waste workplace, the environmental and economic benefits of going green, how to implement lasting sustainable practices in your business, and how to increase employee engagement.
2021 Earth Day Virtual Connector

At the 2021 Earth Day Virtual Connector, join a global online community and hear from Ruby Au, Head, Ecosia North America, a Berlin-based search engine which reinvests 80-100% of its profits into tree planting and sustainable projects to fight climate change. Virtual Earth Day Cleanup: Restore Our Earth

Join Katie Leigh Consulting LLC and the community cleanup crew on this year’s virtual Earth Day cleanup! For small businesses and organizations, if you’d like to be recognized as a participant and partner in the Virtual Clean-up, please email the organizer for branded materials to post on your social media. You can be featured in the event and in outgoing communications. It is free to participate.
Earth Day Celebration
April 22 | 8:00 AM – 10:00 AM PDT
Join Dr. Wendy Gers, the National Council on Education for the Ceramic Arts (NCECA) Green Task Force, ceramic artists, potters & clay lovers from across the globe to celebrate International Earth Day. Learn and share resources related to sustainability, green and regenerative practices, and equity as they intersect with the realm of ceramic arts.
Ecopreneurs for Earth Day
April 22 & 23 | 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Ecopreneurs for Earth Day is a transformational 2 Day Virtual Retreat hosted by Petria Leggo-Field, that combines aligned business eco experts and inner healing within a community of conscious entrepreneurs. Hannah Testa | Taking on the Plastic Crisis

Join the Earth Day discussion with teen activist and environmentalist Hannah Testa, whose work is advancing the sustainability practices of the government and big business with a focus on limiting single-use plastics. She will be joined in conversation with Xiye Bastida, a fellow climate change activist, and moderator Deborah Taylor, to celebrate Mother Earth and discuss how we all can do our part to reduce our environmental footprint on the planet.
Earth Day: Virtual Screening of the Documentary, “Story of Plastic”
April 24 | 10:30 AM – 12:30 PM PDT
In honor of Earth Day, join the Rio Grande International Study Center (RGISC) for a free virtual screening of The Story of Plastic, a groundbreaking documentary about the plastic pollution crisis. Attendees will receive a link to stream the film from RGISC 48 hours before the event start time.
