The Rotary Club of Del Mar is a community of action-oriented leaders committed to creating positive and lasting change. These leaders are everyday people living or working near the Del Mar area that are passionate about giving back. The club is one of over 35,000 Rotary clubs and 1.2 million members worldwide. From working on the final push to eradicate Polio from the world to organizing beach cleanups in Del Mar, it’s members are united to take action under the motto of “Service Above Self.”

At a local level, the Rotary Club of Del Mar sponsors many programs for middle school and high school students, including scholarships, leadership camps, a Model United Nations program, and a music competition. The club also supports nonprofits such as the Boy Scout Troops and the Boys and Girls Club of San Dieguito to support youth programs further.

The support does not stop there; the club also focuses on providing international aid to many projects, including supporting education in Vietnam with the Build a School Foundation and a children’s peace initiative project in Kenya. All of the club’s efforts are under Rotary’s Six Areas of Focus by focusing on promoting peace, fighting disease, providing clean water, sanitation, and hygiene, saving mothers and children, supporting education, and growing local economies.

Due to Covid-19, the Rotary Club of Del Mar had to pivot its largest in-person fundraiser event, the Sunset Soiree, to a virtual fundraising website. The club is adapting to these times and has also shifted their Rotary Club meetings to virtual.

Erika’s marketing expertise was invaluable in helping us reach more members of our community as we transitioned our annual fundraiser from a physical food, wine and auction experience to a virtual event that coordinated a fundraising website with a Zoom and Facebook Live broadcast. We far exceeded our expectations raising 130% of our goal thanks in large part to Erika’s marketing skill and creative use of online, social media and traditional print news outlets. We highly recommend Nadi Marketing and would happily work with Erika again! – Dugan Lamoise, President-Elect & Sunset Soiree Event Chair of Del Mar Rotary Club

In addition, the club organizes an annual Chili & Quackers Challenge in October that raises funds for annual projects. As stated on its website, “[They] are always looking for motivated individuals who are willing to share a little bit of their time and talent to better serve our community and those less fortunate than ourselves worldwide.”
